Bauen Innovations served as Brightwave LLC's primary engineering, fabrication, and production partner across multiple phases of their algae photobioreactor technology development — spanning early-stage design through high-volume parts production for both desktop-scale and industrial-scale systems.
Roles we have filled across this engagement:
CAD Design & Engineering — Phase 1 design and development of bioreactor subsystems from initial concept through production-ready files
Technical Drawing Production — Engineering drawings for sensor clips, tank lids (including the 3800L industrial-scale unit), and custom components
Scale Model Fabrication — Physical scale model of the full bioreactor system for visualization and design validation
Sparger Design & Manufacturing — Custom sparger fabrication plus design and build of a dedicated sparger production machine
Desktop Bioreactor R&D — Full development lifecycle including Optical Immersion Column, PLC/HMI controls, vessel architecture, and prototype unit delivery
