OUR JOURNEY TO INNOVATION
There's a gap between the digital and the physical world that most people don't notice until something breaks — until a part no longer exists, a drawing was never made, or a machine sits idle because no one can figure out what it needs. Bauen (pronounced Bawn) was built to close that gap.
In 2018, founder Brandon Kostinsky began Bauen without a roadmap. Coming from a family restaurant background, there was no obvious bridge into manufacturing or engineering — only long hours, self-teaching, and a growing conviction that 3D technology could solve real problems if someone was willing to take it seriously enough.
Early projects didn't arrive because of reputation or scale. They arrived because someone was willing to trust us — and we were willing to take full responsibility when others wouldn't.
Broken parts with no drawings. Obsolete components with no manufacturer support. Printers written off that had life left in them.
Progress was slow and often costly. Mistakes were paid for in lost time, failed processes, and real sacrifice. But those lessons accumulated. Experience became method. Method became structure. What worked once was carried forward and refined on the next project.

One by one, a team formed — not through hiring plans, but through shared commitment. Brilliant minds who don't thrive on schedules or titles, but excel when given hard problems, ownership, and room to think. People who stay not because it's easy, but because the work matters to them. The environment became demanding, honest, and intolerant of shortcuts — and that's what shaped the people who are still here.

As trust grew, so did the complexity of what we were asked to solve. Responsibility deepened. So did our understanding of the space we occupy — at the boundary between what exists in the digital world and what can actually be held in your hands.

What started as one desktop printer is now a place where broken ideas get fixed, lost parts get found, and the impossible gets built.

MEET THE FOUNDERS
Brandon Kostinsky (far left) founded Bauen in 2018. In 2021, Chuck Daniels (middle) joined the team, and together they became the engine behind Bauen Innovations.
Brandon brings method and relentless process to everything we do, building the structure that makes real innovation possible.
Chuck is the mad scientist — relentlessly inventive and deeply analytical.
He builds solutions no one else would even think to try.
THE TIMELINE
We Solve the Right Problems
We only take on work that aligns with our values and strengths. If we don’t believe in it, we don’t touch it.

Matthew 6:24
“No one can serve two masters. Either you will hate the one and love the other, or you will be devoted to the one and despise the other.”
We Stay When It’s Hard
We don’t quit when things get messy. We show up, push through, and finish what we start—with excellence.
Because others stayed for us when it was messy, too.

Galatians 6:2
"Carry each other’s burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ.”
Purpose Over Ego
We lead with humility. No titles, no hype—just honest work that lifts people up and solves real problems.

Matthew 20:26
“Not so with you. Instead, whoever wants to become great among you must be your servant.”
